JOB POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking experienced Mechanical Technicians – B1 to support mechanical maintenance activities within a petrochemical/chemical plant environment in Qatar.
The successful candidates will be responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, overhaul, installation, alignment, and repair of rotating and static mechanical equipment while strictly following plant safety, maintenance, and quality procedures.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Rotating Equipment
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, layouts, technical instructions, and equipment documentation.
• Install, remove, overhaul, and repair rotating equipment and components.
• Set, align, and install/remove rotating equipment or mechanical parts.
  Troubleshoot and analyze mechanical equipment problems.
• Identify required spare parts and communicate spare-part requirements.
• Perform overhaul and repair of: Compressors, Blowers, Pumps,Fans,Mixers, Mechanical seals, Other rotating machinery
• Static Equipment & Piping
• Carry out maintenance activities on static equipment, including:Valves, Pipelines, Heat exchangers, Vessels, Columns, Piping systems
• Read piping drawings, layouts, and installation instructions.
• Assist with piping installation and maintenance activities.
• Understand commonly used materials in chemical/petrochemical services.
• Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
• Perform day-to-day plant mechanical maintenance independently.
• Implement mechanical preventive maintenance programs according to established procedures.
• Conduct corrective maintenance and equipment repairs.
• Accurately record maintenance activities, inspections, and results.
• Participate in shutdown, turnaround, emergency, and other maintenance activities when required.
• Workshop Activities
• Operate mechanical workshop equipment safely, including:Grinding, machines, Power saws
• Other mechanical workshop tools and equipment

Maintain good housekeeping and safe working conditions within the workshop and plant areas.

MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE

• Candidates should have practical knowledge of materials commonly used in chemical/petrochemical services, including:Pipes, Size, Schedule, Metallurgy, Valves, Size, Type, Trim, Metallurgy, Gaskets, Size, Type, Correct installation, Fittings, Size, Rating Type

SAFETY & QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understand and strictly apply plant safety standards and maintenance procedures.
• Follow Permit-to-Work (PTW), isolation, PPE, and other applicable site safety requirements.
• Maintain high standards of work quality and equipment reliability.
• Participate in safety training and in-house technical training.
• Participate in quality improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Cooperate with supervisors, engineers, operators, and other maintenance personnel.
• Assist in other maintenance activities as directed by the supervisor.
• Forklift operation according to company regulations is preferred.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Candidates must meet one of the following educational and experience combinations:

EDUCATION

• Minimum Relevant Maintenance Experience
  High School / Secondary – Grade 12 4 years
• Grade 10 + Vocational Qualification 4 years
• 2-Year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering 3 years
• 3-Year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering 2 years
• College Degree in a relevant field 1 year

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Relevant experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably within petrochemical, chemical, oil & gas, fertilizer, or industrial plants.
• Good practical knowledge of rotating and static equipment.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and technical instructions.
• Fluent English language skills – speaking, reading, and writing.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary maintenance team.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality.

SELECTION PROCESS
Online HR / English Test

Technical Interview – Online Microsoft Teams
Candidates who successfully pass the HR/English assessment will be invited to a technical interview via Microsoft Teams.
